Melhem Dandan, MD, FACOG, FAAFP, is board-certified in both OB/GYN and Family Medicine, giving him the unique training and experience needed to manage his patients at the Harlandale Clinic in San Antonio, Texas.
Dr. Dandan received his medical degree from Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria. He then completed his family practice residency training at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago and a second residency in OB/GYN at the University of California, Los Angeles, Kern Medical Center.
He practiced medicine in Merced, California, for seven years, where he served as the medical director of a women’s health clinic and in the Department of Public Health. During this time, he was a member of the teaching faculty at the University of California, Davis, and the San Joaquin Valley Community Colleges to help train future generations of nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
After moving to beautiful San Antonio, Dr. Dandan owned and operated a successful OB/GYN clinic on the southside before joining forces with the Baptist Health System and Steward Medical Group. He continued his passion for teaching and is currently an associate faculty at the UIW, teaching medical students and residents in his offices and during his rounds in the hospitals.
Dr. Dandan is affiliated with several San Antonio hospitals. He performs gynecologic robotic surgeries, major pelvic and obstetrical surgeries, minimally invasive and laparoscopic surgeries, and incontinence surgeries, and does office family planning procedures, aesthetics, and hormonal pellets insertions for proper candidates.
He’s credentialed by most public and private insurances in family practice and OB/GYN.
